Our top World Championship 2024 snooker prediction is that the big man himself, Ronnie O’Sullivan, will claim the title. Sure, he’s not a fan of the Crucible and has been overt in his comments about preferring the World Snooker Championship to be played in Saudi Arabia or China. Even O’Sullivan can’t escape the history of this event, however, and he’ll surely be eager to claim one more win here.
The Englishman comes into this tournament in fine form. It’s been a rocky couple of years for Ronnie off the felt, with injuries and mental health issues. Despite this, he’s been steadily getting results over the last six months. With a final at the Tour Championship already this month and a title at the World Masters last month, the GOAT of snooker is back to his very best. O’Sullivan has won seven of these already, and we say an eighth is coming in May. Keep in mind that the first true Tripple Crown is on the line for Ronny, and he would like to finish it all after victories in the UK Championship and Masters.

Our primary reason for suggesting this wager is how the draw has unfolded this year. The two heavy favorites – Judd Trump and Ronnie O’Sullivan–are lumped together on one side of the draw. Allen can waltz his way into the final without having to face either of these threats.
As well as the draw, Allen himself is striking the ball well. He made the semi-finals of the Tour Championship and World Masters and won the Players Championship in late February. While he’s never gone as far as the final here at the World Snooker Championship before, given the form he’s in, this could well be the year.
