Given that both Ronnie O’Sullivan and Neil Robertson haven’t played an event yet this season, and Judd Trump fell relatively early in the Championship League, it’s very realistic that none of them will pose a threat to Murphy in Nuremberg. Mark Selby and Ronnie O’Sullivan are sitting in the same quarter at this year’s European Masters, which usually wouldn’t bode well for Selby. However, as we touched on above, this is O’Sullivan’s first tournament in a while after his late withdrawal from the Championship League.
O’Sullivan hasn’t won here in two decades, and with his current lull in form over the past nine months, it’s quite easy to see him coming back rusty and getting upset – either by Selby himself or an earlier opponent.
