Understanding the 2023 VALORANT Champions
This is it – the crème de la crème of VALORANT tournaments. Over the past two years, this is where we’ve seen the highest level play and biggest prize money, but in 2023, things are getting stepped up a gear. The prize money is more than doubled this year, with a total prize pool of $2,250,000, seeing the winning team walk away with a cool $1,000,000 to their names.
Past Winners of the VALORANT Champions

VALORANT Champions 2023 Tournament Structure & Format
The third edition of the VALORANT Champions will follow a similar structure to the previous two, with 16 teams contesting the opening group phase.
These 16 teams are divided into four groups of four teams, each of which will compete in a double elimination (GSL) format. This will unfold from August 6-13, with all matches being best of three.
Here’s how those groups have been arranged:
Group A | Group B | Group C | Group D |
---|---|---|---|
Paper Rex | Evil Geniuses | Fnatic | Team Liquid |
KRU Esports | FunPlus Phoenix | ZETA Division | Natus Vincere |
Edward Gaming | FUT Esports | NRG | DRX |
Giants | T1 | Bilibili Gaming | LOUD |
From the group stage, the top two teams of each group will advance to the playoffs stage. This will see a double elimination bracket play out from August 16-20 and 24-26, with all matches best of three as well. The exception will be the Lower Bracket Final and Grand Final, which will be the best of five matches.
VALORANT Champions 2023 Predictions
Likely, this is why you’re here – our VALORANT Champions 2023 predictions. We’ve dug into all the latest odds to come up with the best betting tips for VALORANT Champions 2023, whether it’s VALORANT high odds you’re after or who’s most likely to win. Here are our best three:
Fnatic to Win @ 2.10 (11/10)
2 (100%)
0
When it comes to predicting a winner of this tournament, the best information we have to go off is the most recent event, which also happened to be an S-Tier Masters tournament. This was the VCT 2023: Masters Tokyo, and it was won emphatically by Fnatic.
There’s a reason the bookies’ odds are so strongly in favor of Fnatic winning the VALORANT Champions 2023, and that’s because they dominated at the Masters Tokyo. Playing the Evil Geniuses in the Grand Final wasn’t even close, with Fnatic taking out the match 3-0. This wasn’t a fluke, either – of the other big events this year, Fnatic have been in the final every time, winning the VCT 2023: LOCK//IN Sao Paulo and coming runner up at the VCT 2023: EMEA League.
It may not be the most exciting bet, but Fnatic are the best bet for winning the VALORANT Champions 2023.
LOUD to Make the Final @ 3.50 (5/2)
0
(100%) 2
Here’s the thing about LOUD – they’ve been erratic over the past two years. That may not be what you want to hear when you’re considering putting money on them, but hear us out.
Every now and then, LOUD bomb an event. They finished 11th-12th at the VCT 2022: Stage 2 Masters – Copenhagen, and 7th-8th at the VCT 2023: Masters Tokyo. These results were, well, inexcusable for a team of LOUD’s caliber. Thankfully, LOUD always bounce back strong from their failures. With a recent poor result at the Masters Tokyo, betters can take some solace from the fact that it’s very unlikely LOUD will drop the ball in back-to-back events.
In fact, we think this makes them an even better bet to make a deep run at the VALORANT Champions 2023. Their poor performance has driven up their odds in an event where they’re defending champions and will be highly motivated to put in a big shift. Back them to make the final at 3.50 (5/2), which is offered by the best US Esports sportsbooks.
FUT Esports to Beat T1 in Opening Match @ 1.66 (4/6)
2 (100%)
0
Tuesday has one of the tightest opening clashes between two evenly matched teams in FUT Esports and T1. As a result, there are some great betting odds available on both sides, depending on who your pick is to win.
We say FUT Esports will win a tight one here. Both sides had equally disappointing campaigns at the Tokyo Masters, failing to make the cut for the playoffs stage. However, prior to this, FUT Esports showed what they were capable of in the VCT 2023: EMEA League, where they took a game off Fnatic and made it all the way to the Lower Bracket Final, finishing third. Back them to edge T1 on Tuesday for a 1.66 (4/6) return.
Recommended VALORANT Champions 2023 Betting Picks
The biggest event of the year so far for VALORANT fans and players is here, with Los Angeles bookies expecting a splash while the city is hosting three weeks of action to determine who will walk away $1,000,000 richer. We’ve broken down all the odds and say that Fnatic is rightfully the favorite in the betting odds. Back them to win the tournament, most likely defeating LOUD in the Grand Final, while FUT Esports could also make a decent run too.
