Real Madrid @ 2.0 (Evs)

Real Madrid is the slight favorite over Barcelona for the start of the season. Los Blancos had a disappointing year in La Liga, but they went all the way to the Champions League semi-finals and won the Copa del Rey. They have gotten better after buying Jude Bellingham from Dortmund but lost Benzema with his more to Saudi Professional League. Real Madrid won the league in two of the last four years and will compete until the end this time for sure.

Barcelona @ 2.40 (7/5)

Barcelona is the defending champion and is expected to have another good season. They were 10 points clear of Real Madrid after the end of La Liga, but it won’t be as easy this year. The Blaugrana are in a good position to win the league again, and they arguably have equal chances with Real Madrid of winning the championship. The most important transfer moves were signing Ilkay Gündogan but also losing Busquets and Alba, both moving to MLS to rejoin Messi in Inter Miami.

Atletico Madrid @ 13.0 (12/1)

Atletico Madrid had a very strong run in the second half of last season to finish in third place. They lost only twice in their last 22 matches in La Liga. Diego Simeone will be hoping to win his third championship with Atletico this season. Antoine Griezmann has been great for them since coming back to the team from Barcelona. Their chances are up there to win the title, but it definitely won’t be easy.

Sevilla @ 51.0 (50/1)

Sevilla had a very disappointing season in La Liga last season. They finished in 12th place in the final standings, but they had a successful year in European football. Los Nervionenses won their seventh Europa League title last season, which makes them the winners of five of the last 10 editions of the tournament. They have a good and balanced squad, but they need to step up and improve from last season’s position.

Real Sociedad @ 51.0 (50/1)

Real Sociedad had a really good performance in La Liga last season. They finished in fourth place and qualified for the Champions League for the first time since 2013. The strength of this team comes from their good defense. They have players like Mikel Merino, Alex Remiro, and Robin Le Normand, who helped the team concede the third-fewest goals last season. The team improved a lot, but they are not yet ready to win the championship.

Football La Liga 2023–24 Format & Overview

Real Madrid are the favorites to win the league this season. They have a great squad with good depth to compete this year. Real Madrid arguably has the best midfield in the world, with players like Jude Bellingham, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Federico Valverde.

Real Madrid has won 35 championships, which is the most by any Spanish club. The key obstacle can be hidden in the center of the attack, where Joselu is called to replace Golden Ball winner Karim Benzema. Also, they need to improve their bad defense from last season, and they will be more than ready to win the title.

According to the bookmakers in Spain, Atletico Madrid is the only club outside of Barcelona and Real Madrid to win the league in the last 19 years. Atleti has won 11 La Liga titles, and two of them were in the last 10 seasons. They finished in third place last season, only one point below the second-place team, Real Madrid.

The odds for Atletico are enticing, and with their experienced coach and squad, they can win the title if Barca and Real M slip. Jan Oblak, Antoine Griezmann, and Rodrigo de Paul are all good players and will help the team win its first La Liga since 2021.

It’s hard to imagine Real Sociedad having a bad year after their performance last season. They lost only once in their last nine La Liga matches, and they should carry the momentum into the next season. They lost David Silva due to retirement, but they have good players to replace him, like Brais Mendez, who scored the winning goal against Leverkusen in the preseason game. Villarreal, Sevilla, and Betis will all be competing with Real Sociedad for a top-four finish, but La Real has been more consistent and reliable lately.

Vinicius Junior will lead the attack for Real Madrid after Karim Benzema left the team. He is one of the best players in the league and should step up this year for Los Blancos. Vini scored ten goals and nine assists last season in La Liga, but he had 17 goals the year before that. He is the new penalty taker for Real Madrid after Benzema left, and that should help him score more. Vinicius can easily beat this target if he plays more direct and keeps his shooting stats high. Jude Bellingham will also help deliver more assists to Vini this season.
