DreamLeague Season 22 is an online tournament hosted by ESL Gaming. This year, the initial phase of the group stage will feature sixteen participating teams. Four have earned direct invitations based on their standings on the EPT leaderboard. These teams are Team Liquid, BetBoom Team, Gaimin Gladiators, and Xtreme Gaming. All other competing teams enter the tournament via the Regional Qualifiers.
The tournament will occur in four phases, starting with two group stages. In the first group stage, 16 teams are divided into two groups of eight teams each. Teams in one group will battle in a BO2 round-robin format.
The top four teams from each group will advance to the Second Group Stage, where all remaining teams will be placed into one group. This second group stage will follow a standard single round-robin format. After these group stages, the top four teams will move onto the Playoff bracket. The Playoffs will use a double-elimination format. Matches in the Playoff bracket will be best-of-three series, leading to a best-of-five match for the grand final.
The tournament has a $1 million prize pool, while the event winners could also be invited to the International Championship and the Riyadh Masters. Concerning previous winners, Team Spirit won The Dota 2 DreamLeague Season 21. Before their triumph, Giamin Gladiators secured back-to-back victories in season 19 and 20.
This group features season 19 and 20 winners, Giamin Gladiators, while it is also comprised of heavyweights like Azure Ray and BetBoom Team.
