Understanding The China Badminton Masters
The competition is an annual event held in China. It joined the ranks of the BWF Super Series tournaments in 2007. However, in 2014, the tournament’s status was reduced to BWF Grand Prix Gold. This change occurred after China’s unsuccessful bid in the fall of 2012 to host two BWF Super Series events, leading to the Australian Open replacing the China Masters for the 2014–2017 Superseries cycle.
In 2018, the tournament was reclassified as a World Tour Grade 2 Level 3 event (BWF World Tour Super 750) and renamed the Fuzhou China Open. From 2023 onwards, the tournament will take place in Shenzhen and revert to its original name, the China Masters.

2024 China Masters Betting Predictions
Badminton 2024 betting odds for outright favorites were unavailable when writing this text. However, we found China Masters 2024 badminton odds for all opening matches. These are our 2024 China Masters betting predictions for the first set of clashes in Shenzhen:
Lee Zii Jia To Beat Sen Lakshya @ 1.58 (3/5)
2 (67%)
(33%) 1
Lee Zii Jia’s upcoming first-round clash against India’s Lakshya Sen at the China Masters in Shenzhen is crucial for his World Tour Finals (WTF) qualification hopes. The world No. 7 has experienced mixed fortunes since clinching bronze at the Paris Olympics in August, enduring early exits at both the Japan and China Opens. Though his recent quarter-final appearances at the Arctic Open and Kumamoto Masters hint at a return to form, securing victory against Sen is vital.
Sen’s form also dipped after the Olympics’ conclusion. He exited at the quarter-final of the Arctic Open. Additionally, he suffered first-round defeats at the Denmark Open and Kumamoto Japan Masters. Given the significance of ranking points at stake for his WTF qualification, Lee appears poised to prevail. Bookies in China offer this option at odds of 1.58 (3/5).
Yue Han To Beat Zhang Yiman @ 1.54 (1/2)
2 (100%)
0
For our women’s singles 2024 China Masters badminton predictions, we have selected this option. Yue Han enters this matchup with considerable momentum, establishing herself as the clear frontrunner. Her impressive trajectory includes reaching the round of 16 in three of her previous five tournaments, highlighted by her triumph at the Clash Royale Arctic Open 2024, where she overcame Ratchanok Intanon in the finals.
While Zhang Yi Man has matched Yue’s consistency in reaching the round of 16 in three of her last five events, she’s yet to advance beyond this stage in any of these appearances. Considering the disparity in their recent achievements and rankings, Yue Han is the stronger contender to secure victory in this encounter.
