It’s not a surprise to see Julia Simon at the top of the 2024-25 Women’s Biathlon WC odds, as she has had great preparations in the summer, winning two tournaments in the last two months. Lou Jeanmonnot was great in her second full season in the Biathlon World Cup last year, finishing in second place after winning four individual and five relay events, so her chances were great to win this season.

Lisa Vittozzi is the defending champion, but she is injured, and missing Kontiolahti this season will affect her chances. Ingrid Tandrevold had the best results in her career last season, finishing in third place behind Lisa and Lou, and she had three podium finishes in that season. Justine Braisaz-Bouchet is an Olympic gold medalist and finished fourth in the WC last season, so she is definitely one of the favorites.

Lou Jeanmonnot is coming off her breakthrough season, in which she won the bronze medal in the 2023-24 Biathlon Women’s WC. The Frenchwoman’s shooting last season was outstanding, as she had an amazing 92.8% total hit rate, and she has improved her skiing a lot as well. Lou has one of the best shooting skills in this competition, and she is expected to win the Mass Start races this season again, which will give her a big push to finally win the gold medal here.

Jeanne Richard to Beat Gilonne Guigonnat @ 1.85 (17/20)

Jeanne Richard’s first-ever win in the Biathlon World Cup came at the Kontiolahti event last year, so she has a lot of experience in that stadium, and the French biathlete will give her best to repeat her success in this venue again. Gilonne Guigonnat is also in good form, but Richard has proven several times that she performs well under pressure, as she missed only one shot in her title win in Kontiolahti last year in a close race.

The France Women’s team did very well in the Biathlon 2024 World Championship Relay event earlier in February, having won their first-ever gold medal in style. All of the French players are in great form coming into this season, as Julia Simon, Lou Jeanmonnot, and Justine Braisaz-Bouchet are all in the top five favorites in the individual odds, while Jeanna Richard, Gilonne Guigonnat, Sophie Chauveau, and Oceane Michelon are also expected to do well. This is the most balanced team in the competition, and they have great value on their odds here.
